Hello. I discovered mould formation in my AC ducts. I was a little alarmed as mould grew quickly. So, I wanted an effective solution. I looked up how to remove mold from AC ducts and found a few methods. You can use baking soda, white vinegar and borax individually to remove mould from the AC ducts. I’ll share the process of using them and treating the mould below.
How to Get Rid of Mold in Air Ducts?
Here are three ways to remove mould from AC vents:
Baking Soda
Baking soda has antimicrobial and mild abrasive properties, making it a good DIY option to remove mould from air vents.
You need to dilute baking soda to form a paste and directly apply it over the mould.
Let the paste settle and then scrub with a brush gently.
Use a clean rag to wipe the mould off.
White Vinegar
Like baking soda, vinegar also possesses antimicrobial properties.
Create a solution by mixing water and white vinegar in equal amounts.
Transfer the solution to a spray bottle and apply it over the affected region.
Let it sit for some time and then scrub the mould gently with a cloth.
Borax
This has fungicidal properties and acts as a good solution for treating mould.
Dilute borax using water and apply it over the mould.
Scrub the region with a cloth and wipe clean.
Moreover, out of these 3 I used baking soda to remove the mould from my AC ducts. So, these are the methods. I hope you find these steps helpful.
