Pigeons attempted to build a nest on my window air conditioner last year. There are little gaps and holes above my window air conditioner. So, their dirty droppings, coupled with many of these metallic cables, found their way into the AC. Hence, I looked up the steps on how to prevent pigeons from sitting on AC. Some of the techniques that I found online are as follows:

• Try to add anti-perching devices. Pigeons will avoid these painful surfaces, which can be made of wires or spikes. 

• Performing regular maintenance and cleaning is another efficient strategy that I discovered. Pigeons will find it harder to perch if you keep the area around your AC unit clean and eliminate any potential food sources.

• If you have any trees near your AC unit, it is best to remove them. It will block nests and entrance places for pigeons.

• Using sound or visual deterrents will help keep pigeons away from your air conditioning equipment. Pigeons can be kept away by placing reflecting items next to the unit, such as old CDs or reflective tape.
