Hello Niharika, I also suffered from cockroaches under the refrigerator during the rainy season this year. I was irritated with it. So, I checked how to get rid of roaches under refrigerator. I found a simple DIY method using baking soda and sugar. Fortunately, the method worked and the roaches went away. Let me share the process with you.

How to Get Rid of Cockroaches Under Refrigerator?

Here is the method:

  1. Take a bowl and mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda and white sugar, each.

  2. Mix them and dust the prepared mixture in the areas where cockroaches are seen.

  3. Repeat this method till you see all the cockroaches have gone away.

If you wish to use a simpler method than this, then you can also use bay leaves. They are pretty common and you can find them easily in your kitchen. Their strong odour works well against these roaches.

  1. Take 5 to 7 bay leaves and crush them.

  2. Place these crushed leaves at all the points where cockroaches are usually present.

  3. Do this process every time you observe roaches coming. You should see the roaches going away in about 2 weeks.

This is all about the process. I hope it helps.

How to avoid cockroaches in kitchen?

I realised how big the issue of lingering roaches is when I moved to a flat with my friend. Their hub was beneath our refrigerator. We used so many tactics on how to get rid of roaches under refrigerator, but those pesky creatures used to come back every time. Then we decided to follow a fixed routine to keep the roaches away. Let me share our cockroach-repelling routine with you. I am sure it will help you.

How to Get Rid of Cockroaches Under Refrigerator?

  • Cleaning:

Keep your space clean. Cockroaches crave crumbs and clutter. So, our first mission is to clean up their playground. We usually deep clean under and around the fridge, sweeping away food debris and eliminating their hidden hideouts. Don't forget to clean those dark corners behind the appliance too!

  • Sealing the Entry Points:

Next, plug up any potential entry points! Check for cracks or gaps around pipes, wires, or the fridge itself. Seal them with caulk or a silicone sealant, making your kitchen fortress practically roach-proof.

  • Use Natural Repellents:

Then we deploy some natural deterrents! Bay leaves, peppermint oil, or even crushed cucumber peels emit scents that roaches despise. So we place them strategically near their usual haunts, creating an invisible barrier of botanical unpleasantness.

  • Set up Traps

: Place sticky traps near suspected entry points or under the fridge itself. Just be sure to check them regularly and dispose of them hygienically.

  • Professional Help:

But if you notice that the roach infestation persists, consider calling in the professionals. They have access to powerful (and safe) extermination methods that can tackle even the most stubborn scuttlers.

With a little patience, perseverance, and these clever tactics, you can get rid of cockroaches in fridge.
