During COVID, we were unable to hire professionals to hang our curtains in our new house as there was a complete lockdown so I researched how to hang curtains without a rod myself. There were many ways I came across, but some of them were quite complicated. I therefore opted for the simple ones. You can get some tips on

how high to hang curtains here:

How Do You Hang Curtains?

Here are some methods I learned about how do I hang curtains:

Tension Rods:

Use tension rods, which can be adjusted to fit within your window frame, providing a simple and adjustable solution.

Command Hooks:

Install adhesive hooks, like Command Hooks, above the window frame, then attach curtain clips or rings to hang your curtains.

PVC Pipe:

Cut a PVC pipe to the desired width, paint or cover it to match your decor, and hang it using brackets or hooks.

Tree Branches:

If you want a rustic look, go for sturdy branches above your window as a natural and unique curtain rod.

Wire or String:

Thread a strong wire or string between two wall-mounted hooks, allowing you to clip or tie your curtains in place.

These are some common ways to hang curtains without rods and are really helpful.

Curtains are a very important part of the living room or bedroom. This multi-functional home item gives isolation, hides bright sunlight, aids in healthy sleep, and adds aesthetic to windows. As per my opinion, you can choose curtains of various colours, patterns and shades to give your room a beautiful look. I believe you can add life to the room with these attractive shades. One must end up making most of the interior decoration and finish a room in elegance with the appropriate proportions and hanging strategies. Let’s see how to hang curtains.

Tools needed to hang curtains:

1) Curtains, rod and necessary equipment.

2) Measuring tape, ladder, pencil, drill bit, hammer, screws and level.

3) Safety goggles, wall channels and iron.

The process to hang curtains:

1) Measure the dimensions

You should start by measuring the dimensions of the windows. Measure the width of the windows and add eight to twelve inches to the length of the rod. The width of every curtain piece must be at least as broad as the width of the window. You can determine the length of the curtains by measuring from where you intend to tie the rod to the ground.

2) Fit the hooks

Now you have to fit the hooks or bracket to the wall by making a drill in the wall. Each bracket should be set at the level of roughly four to six inches from the window structure's side. You can drill the slots in the brackets and attach them to the wall using screws and a hammer. And don’t forget to check the lineup of both the hooks. If you want to cover the window perfectly, then you have to fit the hooks a little bit out of the windows.

3) Attach the bars and curtains

You have to thread the curtain properly onto the rod first. And then you can attach the curtain bars to the hooks or brackets directly. It doesn’t need any special supervision. But if the bracket contains screws, then you have to tighten the screws once you attach the curtain bar. You can thread the rod through the slots if the curtains contain wide holes. If not, use curtain hooks or pins to fasten the curtains to the rod.
