You can position brackets on the trim of the french doors. The one I use is the Kwik-Hang Curtain Rod Brackets. I would not suggest hanging heavy material like velvet curtains on them.

These hooks have sticky tape on one side. You can just stick them on the window frame. It will be useful for hanging photo frames as well. 

If your french door has a metal frame. You can get magnetic rods. They will stick to the magnetic surface and won’t budge. It is the easiest method out of everything I've shared. 

You can DIY a tennis rod out of coat hooks to hang the curtains. Just take the hooks and stick them on the wall. You might need a wooden stick to balance the hooks
