For almost two years I did not buy any curtain rods to hang the curtains. I just opted for some other methods, so let me just share them with you here:

Tension Wire: 

The best way is to tie a sturdy wire across the top of your window frame, securing it on each side with small tension wire holders. Slide the curtain rings or loops onto the wire for a lightweight, contemporary look. However, if you have heavy curtains, do not opt for this method, as the wire will hang due to the curtain’s weight and might not be a good option.

Velcro Strips: 

You can also attach heavy-duty Velcro strips along the top of your window frame and the back of your curtain, then stick the curtain directly to the Velcro to hang the curtains. This is an easy and effective way that you can consider opting for. 

Command Strips and Curtain Clips: 

Consider sticking multiple Command strips across the top of your window frame. Then, attach curtain clips to the Command strips and use them to hold up the curtain.

Just make sure that they are lined up accurately on the wall. The nails should be large enough to allow the curtain to be stretched directly over them.

If you love nature and want to give your window a natural look, go with this hack. You can cut the branches as per your requirement and make pieces accordingly. Then soften it with the help of sandpaper. You can cut two segments of the branch and place one on each part of the branch so it can balance on them.

How to hang outdoor curtains without a rod?

Cables or wires are one of the best ways to hang outdoor curtains. First, you have to drill 2 holes to 2 sides and mount screws into them. Now thread the curtain into the cable or wire. Then you have to tie the cable on both sides to the screws with the required amount of tension. If you don’t create tension in the wire, the curtains won’t hang properly.
