How to hang kitchen cabinets?

  • Take a leveller and mark the lines on the walls. There should be a minimum of 48 inches difference between the placement of the kitchen cabinet and the floor. You can use chalk to mark the lines. You should mark for short measurements and the high point of the floor.

  • Mark the height of base cabinets. Find out the studs and also pinpoint the locations of the layout lines. Mark the location of appliances as well.

  • Before installing the cabinets remove the doors, drawers, and moveable shelves so that the cabinet becomes lighter. You need to set a straight 1x3 cleat and drive drywall screws at least 2 inches into the wall. and to each stud. Attach cleats as many as required along with the length. Now, align the frame of the upper cabinets. Clamp the face frame together.  Find the flush with a straightedge. Drill the counter board pilot holes through the top, bottom, and edge of the counterbored.

  • Take 2-inch screws and drive to the holes so that the cabinets are tightly held together.

  •  Now it's time to hang the cabinets. You will need one or two helpers to lift the cabinets from the sides. In the back, top, bottom and studs of the cabinet drive 21/2 inch deck screws after levelling the cabinet. Align the flush and clamp and screw the edges properly. Cover the gaps of the cabinets with a trim if there are any.
