Hey there Mridula,

I am a huge plant lover and I love to try out different things with my balcony. But my favourite experiment on my balcony is the balcony railing planter. They look so elegant and soothing and are also budget friendly. You also play a small role in helping make the environment a little better.

Give your balcony a modern yet environment-friendly look with the assistance of the qualified Interior Designers of NoBroker at the most affordable rates.

I believe balconies allow us to add colour and life to our outdoor space, no matter how little it may be. Hang pots for balcony railings instead of taking up important space on the floor. Some planters are saddle-shaped to fit over the top of the railing, but standard planters can be attached with brackets. This allows the planters to hang along the side of the railing rather than on top, allowing you to enjoy your view without having to lean around them.

To understand how to hang planters on balcony railing, continue reading.

  • Select hanging brackets that are the same width as your railing and the bottom of your pots. To make sure you get the proper bracket, measure the width of the railing and the bottom of the planter at its broadest point. Measure the planter's height as well, and select a bracket that is 1- to 2-inches taller than the planter. To fasten everything, look for brackets with holes on the bottom, long side part, and top section.

  • In the bracket, place the planter. Turn it around to face the back and use a pencil to mark the bracket's screw hole locations on the planter.

  • Drill holes where you marked in the planter.

  • Reattach the planter to the bracket using screws and nuts inserted through the holes you drilled. Use screws that are long enough to secure a nut on the exterior.

  • Cover the railing with the bracket. If you wish to see the flowers, turn it inward toward the balcony, or outward toward the street to beautify the balcony from the outside.

  • If your railing is wooden, drive a 2-inch wood screw through the hole on the top of the bracket and into the railing. If the railing is metal, thread a zip-tie through the opening and around it.

This is the process I use for hanging balcony railing planter. I hope they help you too.
