• Next, stick the adhesive strips to the shelf. If required, fasten two strips together and press them firmly on the shelf for around 30 - 60 seconds. For extra security, staple the adhesive strips to the shelf.

• To complete the process, press the shelf against the wall for around a minute to ensure it stays in place.

When I was living in a rental apartment last year, there was a “no holes in the wall” rule that prevented me from fixing objects to the wall using nails. However, my father knew that I like to keep my books, pictures, and vases on the wall shelves. So, he told me how to mount wall shelves without nails using adhesive glue easily. Let me share the simple process with you:

• Apply mild soap to a damp cloth and use it to remove debris and dirt from the wall.

• Next, rub fine-grit sandpaper on the wall to smooth any rough spots. After sanding, use a dry cloth to wipe the wall to remove excess paint, dust, and other particles.

• Measure and find the perfect place for the shelf. For this, place & align a level against the wall. Use a pencil and draw a line to mark this spot.

• We will be using brackets to support the shelf. Mark the places for the brackets on the wall and keep a bracket at least every 18-inch for excellent support.

• Squeeze urethane adhesive glue along the brackets’ back edges.

• Press the bracket against the wall for transferring the urethane glue. Remove it before the bracket adheres to the wall.

• Wait for 10-12 minutes and then place the bracket against the wall again. Press and allow the bracket for attaching to the wall. A tiny amount of adhesive might fall from the brackets’ sides. Use a damp cloth to wipe excess glue.

• Use masking tape to secure the bracket to the wall. Wait for 2 days for the adhesive glue to fix before you remove the masking tape.

• Use as many brackets as required to the wall.

• Once the glue is dry, you can keep the shelf on the brackets. For added security, you can glue the shelf to the wall.
