I bought a resale flat last year. It was an old house and when I moved into it I noticed that most of its walls were imperfect, uneven, or rough. So, I decided to get wallpapers for them but I was not sure how good wallpaper for uneven walls would prove to be. So, I talked to a few craftsmen and tried to understand the process of sticking  wallpaper on uneven walls. I will share with you what I did.

Install wallpaper over textured walls by hiring professional painters from NoBroker. Get help from the designers from NoBroker to design your home with perfect wallpaper designs.

How to hang wallpaper on uneven walls?

  1. Evaluate the damage

You must first assess the necessities of your wall by looking over it. Perhaps there are holes or fissures. Perhaps the wall has some discolouration or there are numerous small nail holes. Maybe all it needs is a facelift because it looks shabby.

  1. Correct What You Can

Use putties and scoring tools to smooth out any blemishes on the surface of your wall, depending on the needs of your wall. Do what you can to make the wall as perfect as possible by removing screws and filling in any gaps. Although it won't be flawless, the smoother the process, the better.

  1. Select Your Paper

The most effective paper for your work will have texture, vivid colours, and/or eye-catching patterns. The paper's complex pattern will do a better job of concealing the wall's flaws. Because there won't be a texture or pattern to cover any bumps or underlying roughness, a fresh coat of paint or plain wallpaper won't be able to successfully conceal the flaws.

  1. Make The Repairs Glide

You might need to sand the surface down or clean any unwelcome materials off after your putty or a fresh coat of paint has set and sealed. To make the patch as flat as possible on the wall, be sure to sand and smooth it.

  1. Prepare Your Wall

A critical step in getting ready to hang wallpaper is cleaning your wall. Whatever the condition of the wall you're trying to conceal, it must be clean in order to allow for easier wallpaper application.

  1. Compile Your Resources

You'll need a few more tools than if you were hanging prepasted or peel-and-stick wallpaper because you'll probably be hanging traditional wallpaper.

  • Paste for wallpaper

  • Roller brush

  • Paste brush

  • Measuring tape

  • Pencil

  • Scissors

  • Knife

  • Stepladder

  1. Cut Wallpaper Determine your demands and cut the paper accordingly. Check to make sure you have enough paper to cover the entire area without any blank spots even though you probably calculated how much you would need while you were planning.

Remember: measure twice, cut once!

  1. Apply The Paper

It's time to begin hanging after measuring and cutting. Have at least one other person assist you while you are doing this. Apply the paste on the paper's back, align it, and then push it against the wall. You can maintain the paper aligned as you are placing it by having an extra pair of eyes and hands.

  1. Adorn.

You can use furnishings to further conceal flaws and draw attention away from the bumps in the wall if you discover that it still appears uneven and awkwardly textured.

I believe now you completely understand the process of putting

wallpaper for uneven walls.
