I had to adjust the natural gas pressure meter several times. This is because of the improper adjustments made by service employees. Improper pressure settings could be the source of issues, and the main regulator could be changed to determine if it solves the issue. So let’s take a look at how to increase natural gas pressure at meter.

How to increase gas pressure at home?

1) You need to determine where the primary natural gas regulator is. The exterior regulator is located before the metre and you should not mess with it. Additionally, regulators may be linked to certain appliances, but they are often fixed in place. The regulator that needs to be changed is placed directly after the gas metre and not far from where the gas pipelines enter the house.

2) You need to turn off the gas. Connect the pressure gauge to the regulator's outlet valve. Check the pressure after starting the engine. You need to check the pressure on every device by turning on different devices and device configurations. Pressure needs to stay consistent. You have to change the pressure if it differs depending on the device or set of equipment. This is one of the main methods in how to increase pressure of gas.

3) You must disconnect the regulator cap. There is an adjustment screw and spring just below that. The way of adjustments is indicated on the regulator and rotating the screw typically increases outlet pressure. You need to rotate the screw a little to set the pressure slightly higher than what is displayed on the pressure gauge. Small modifications have a big impact because the gas pressure is only moderately higher than atmospheric pressure.

4) Check to determine if there has been an increase by repeating the appliance setups that saw the biggest pressure changes. You can make the required changes to achieve a pressure that is reasonably steady. Then turning off the gas and removing the pressure gauge will allow you to restart the gas. You need to put the safety cap back on.

I hope you understood how to increase natural gas pressure at meter.
