Hi there, I can help you to learn how to install a ceiling shower head. To place a ceiling shower head in your bathroom, you need to make a lot of changes to the existing water pipe line and connect the shower head carefully with these pipes. I tried doing this process on my own but later realised that it was not as easy as it looked. Let me share more information about this.

How to Install a Ceiling Rain Shower Head?

For the installation, you have to go through multiple pipes, connect the lines with the showerhead, make a space for the shower head on the ceiling of your bathroom and then hang it.

In the first few steps, I realised that the method is not a thing a normal person could do as it involves knowledge of pipes and which should be connected with which. If one thing goes wrong, your house can have serious water issues and can also flood with water.

Also, the ceiling shower head has to be fitted on the ceiling, which is the work of a professional plumber. Hence, I stopped then and there to call up a plumber who could do this.

I would advise you to not do this on your own as this is strictly the work of a professional plumber. They’ll do it quickly and efficiently. So to learn ceiling mount shower head installation, please don’t do it yourself, but hire a professional plumber. Have a good day.

Hi Buddy,

Aryan, my son, enjoys playing in the rain. He always bathes in the shower. Recently, my husband and I discussed installing a ceiling shower head. That would bring Aryan a great deal of pleasure and a fantastic, enjoyable bathing experience. Ceiling installations can be costly, but installing a rainfall showerhead to a shower wall outlet can produce the same sumptuous results.

Check out NoBroker plumbing services, in case you need any kind of help with installing ceiling showerheads.

There are a few things you should know about ceiling rain shower heads before I begin with my story about the installation of the same.

To begin,

What exactly is a rain shower head?

Rainfall showers spray water over your head like rain, unlike wall-mounted showers that emit a constant stream of water towards you. Some rainfall showers require drilling into the ceiling, while others are as simple as replacing the showerhead.

What is the feel of a rainfall ceiling mounted shower head?

Rainfall showerheads are typically 8 to 14 inches wide and hang over your head instead of pointing at an angle from the wall. It will give a rainfall experience to you while bathing.

  • Determine the height of the showerhead

If you're not sure how high to mount a rain shower, this simple trick will help you figure it out. From the bathroom ceiling, measure the height of the present shower head. When compared to a regular showerhead, a rainwater shower head requires an additional two to three inches of head height.

Some rainfall showerhead styles require at least 11 inches of ceiling clearance.

As a result, it's critical to determine how high your rain shower should be positioned so that it doesn't finish up at chest level

  • Choosing a booster pump

You may require a booster pump to guarantee that your showerhead is at the proper pressure once you've picked a showerhead that leaves enough distance between it and the user.

A showerhead with a wider diameter will have lower exit pressure than one with a smaller diameter. Maintain the pressure with a booster pump

  • Get rid of the outdated showerhead

Remove any soap dishes, handles, or bars that may be in the way, and make sure the water is turned off before you begin.

The showerhead and the shower arm are two independent pieces, so remove the showerhead first. Attempt to delete it manually. If the showerhead is not hand fastened, you may need to use an adjustable wrench to remove it; cover the metal with a thin towel to prevent the wrench from damaging it.

Remove the shower arm next. To remove the shower arm, you may need to use a wrench and some Teflon tape. When you install the new showerhead, you should change this

  • The new showerhead to be installed

You may need to purchase a longer shower arm to ensure that your new showerhead hangs directly over you. Check for a drop ear elbow with a cross brace through the hole in the wall where the old shower arm was removed. This will give you the necessary support for the longer shower arm. Before installing the new arm, you should clean out the previous pipe and let it dry.

To prevent leaks, wrap Teflon tape clockwise around each end of the new shower arm. Wrap it at least three to four times. Start screwing the shower in place by hand over the pipe. Attach your new rainfall showerhead after the arm is securely in place

  • Check out your new shower

Remove any excess Teflon tape that is visible to improve the cosmetic appeal of your new shower. Turn on the water to see if the showerhead is properly installed. If the water leaks, use a wrench and a protective towel to tighten the showerhead attachment by hand until the dripping stops. You should now be able to enjoy your rainfall shower

That's all there is to it. You now know how to quickly and easily install a new wall-mounted rainfall ceiling shower head. Nevertheless, I would like to suggest that you should still hire a professional plumber to assist you with the process.
