• Planning and Assessment: Type and Number of electrical devices,Location of the panel board, Compliance with state regulations.

• Getting the required materials and tools: Tools such as a voltage tester, wire strippers, screws and screw-drivers are needed. The new electrical panel needs to be of high quality.

• Switching off power: The power needs to be switched off first before installing the new panel. A voltage tester can be used to confirm the same.

• Mounting the Panel Board: The Panel board needs to be securely mounted at the chosen location, Anchors and screws have to be used to ensure proper mounting takes place. The Panel should be installed in an area which ensures ease of accessibility.

• Circuit Braker Installation: Circuit breakers go into the panel board. Right tightening of breakers is of utmost importance.

• Connecting Wires: The right wires have to be connected to the right terminals on the circuit breakers. Colour Coding regulations have to be followed.

• Neutral and Ground connections: Neutral wires go to the neutral bar, Ground wires go to the ground bar. Grounding of wires ensures safety for the panel board.

• Label Circuits: Labelling is crucial for easy identification. It helps in the easy diagnosis of problems if any arise.

• Final Check: A final check is made to ensure no loose ends.

• Power On: The power has to be switched back on.
