• Hammer

• Circular saw

• Hand saw

• Tape measure

• Pencil

• Nail set

How to install a prehung interior door?

• Order the door 24 hours before installing. Don't lay it down on the floor. You can keep it vertically or horizontally.

• Thoroughly check and see if there are any damages to the door. Ensure that the door fits the frame.

• Now you need to prepare for the opening. For this, you need to ensure that the height and the width of the door must not be more than 0.5 inches.

• The opening of the door should be square in shape and you should ensure that the header and the floor must be level.

• You can trim the sides of the door if required. Leave a 0.5 inches gap at the bottom of the floor so that the door can move freely.

• Put the hinge side of the door by levelling the door accurately. 

• Level the door using shims and finish nails.

• Shim the top of the door as well.

• Shim the door frame back to square using a measuring tape. You need to see both diagonals of the door frame square.

• Now that your door is correctly positioned, shim some more nails and trim them with a handsaw.
