A couple of months ago, we decided to change our Indian toilet to a Western one. We decided to call a plumber from NoBroker. We have had a good experience with NoBroker services earlier so we decided to stick to them. I was there with the professional throughout their working day so I can share a brief about how do you install a toilet.
What is the Toilet Installation Process?
The most important thing you need to do before installing a toilet is to clear the installation area and level it. Once this is done, you can proceed. Here are the steps on how to install a toilet
Once the cleaning is done, check the proper drainage connections and toilet flange. In case of any cracks or damage, replace it with a new one.
Set a wax ring on the flange to create a seal between the toilet and the drain.
Place closet bolts into the flange slots, ensuring they are parallel and secure.
Carefully lower the toilet onto the wax ring, aligning the bolts with the mounting holes.
Tighten nuts onto the bolts to secure the toilet, but avoid over-tightening to prevent damage.
Attach the water supply line to the toilet tank, ensuring a snug connection.
Turn on the water supply and check for any leaks. Adjust as needed.
Attach the toilet seat according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Flush the toilet to ensure proper functionality and check for any issues.
Apply caulk around the base to create a watertight seal.
So this is how toilet installation is done. The process is time consuming and requires a lot of tools so make sure you have those in case you want to do it yourself.
