You can install a baseboard by measuring the area, removing the old baseboard, applying the adhesive on the new baseboard and applying it over the flooring. This is just a short glimpse of the process. I have explained how to install rubber baseboard and trim baseboards in depth below. So check it out to learn the process.
What is the Procedure to Install a Rubber Baseboard?
Here is how to install a rubber baseboard at home.
The first step is to measure the area to figure out the amount of rubber baseboard which is required. You’ll have to find the perimeter of the space.
Now, if you have an existing baseboard, you’ll have to first get rid of it. Then, apply adhesive on the back portion of the rubber baseboard in a zig-zag manner. Distribute it evenly over the surface with the help of a trowel.
The third step is to cut the baseboard. You can do so by placing it on a scrap wooden piece and cutting it straight using a knife.
The last process is to work your way through the walls and corners. For the tricky part around the corners, place a piece all the way into the corner. Grab another piece and cut the lip, which is at the bottom. Then, place it up against the first piece you installed.
Now, let me show you the process of installing a trim baseboard.

How to install baseboard molding?
I measured and cut the baseboard for each wall. I cut an extra board and turned it into a 16 inches stud board.
I then laid down the top edge of the baseboard and screwed it in place or used a nail.
I aligned all the boards vertically and sawed the board at a 2- to 5-degree bevel.
I then hammered three 8d finish nails through the boards. I tried to nail the board at a downward angle.
I then fit the corner of each board against the casing.

Then, I fine-tuned all the joints with a compound miter saw set at 45 degrees
Lastly, I filled all the blank spaces with pieces of a baseboard.
I glued down all the pieces and let the floor dry.

The process to install all baseboards is pretty much the same, be it vinyl, wooden or synthetic boards. You will need adhesive, compound miter saw nails, a screw gun, a hammer, protective gear like gloves and glasses, etc.
