I recently got some help with setting up a towel hanger in the bathroom. I wasn’t sure where to place it exactly, so I had a professional come over. Watching him work, I understand how to fix towel hanger in bathroom. He first started by finding the exact location followed by drilling the holes, installing the hanger and so on. I have shared the detailed process below.

How to Install Towel Hanger in Bathroom?

Here’s how he did it, step by step. It’s definitely something you can do on your own too if you follow these simple steps.

  • He first looked around to choose a convenient and dry spot near the shower area but far enough to stay dry. This way, the towels would be easy to grab without getting wet.

  • He held the hanger up to where we wanted it and used a pencil to mark the spots for the screws. This made sure everything would line up perfectly and avoided mistakes.

  • After marking, he drilled small holes right in the marked spots. Watching him, I realised how careful you have to be with the drill to avoid damaging tiles or making the hole too big.

  • Once the holes were drilled, he placed the towel hanger and inserted screws tightly. He checked to make sure it wasn’t loose, giving it a little tug to be sure.

  • To finish, he used a small level to ensure the hanger was straight. He then wiped off the pencil marks, and everything looked perfect.

It was a quick, straightforward process, but having him around saved me time and effort. I hope you found these towel hanger bathroom installation steps helpful.

I chose to replace the aged brass towel rack that had started going free as part of my small laundry room renovation. Have you ever asked for a towel only to discover that the towel rack was hardly fastened to the wall when you reached for it? So let’s see how to install bathroom towel holder.

How to install bathroom towel hanger?

Studs are the best and safest way to secure a towel rack. If there's not a stud where you want it, your towel-bar screws will need to secure themselves in the drywall. Forget installing the cylinder plastic anchors that come with the bar; they're too easy to take out. Instead, invest in some heavy-duty metal toggle anchors that can withstand 40 pounds of pulling force when embedded in drywall.

Methods to attach bathroom towel hanger set:

1) Attach the Anchor

You have to attach the anchor first. Make a vertical line where you want the towel bar's one end to go. At that point, screw in the first toggle anchor until the head is flat with the wall, there is no need for a beginning hole.

2) Screw the Rack

You have to put the first towel-bar mount in place. Screw the bar's mounting plate into the anchor. As the screw is hammered in, the toggle will automatically twist into place behind the wall. You should keep turning the screw until the toggle is tight against the drywall's rear side.

3) Attach both the Points

First, you should mark the opposite end. Make a vertical mark in line with the screw hole on the bar's other mount while holding it against the wall. Then you have to hold a level parallel to the first toggle, then use it to place a horizontal mark across the vertical one. Where the vertical and horizontal marks intersect, drive another toggle anchor into the wall. This will help you with hanging shower towel rack.

4) Finish the Setup

Now you can finish the installation process. Toggle anchors should be driven through all remaining mounting-plate screw holes. Then drill screws through the mounting. You may now hang those large, heavy towels on your bar without fear.

How to install bathroom towel holder must be clear to you now.

The following is a list of the stages of installing a towel bar in your bathroom or shower:

  • Determine the approximate location of your towel bar. Make a rough plan for where you want the new towel bar to go.

  • Fix the provided template to the wall. To ensure that the bar is straight once installed on the drywall, use a level.

  • Make a mark on the wall where the screw holes are. Mark the holes where the drywall anchors and/or screws will be installed using a pencil.

  • Drill your drywall anchors into the drywall at the screw points. This is the simplest stage; simply make sure you hit your targets. Tap the anchors into the wall with a hammer. Tap the anchors into place gently.

  • The rear brackets should be screwed into the wall anchors. These brackets come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but they usually contain a rear piece to which the front mount connects. This can be done with a small set screw or (as in this case) by latching onto the bracket's two upward tongues.

  • Secure the bracket to the wall with a precision screwdriver. Slide the towel holder down over the bracket. You won't be able to insert the horizontal towel rod or bar later if you secure the second bracket before adding the horizontal towel rod or bar.

These are steps I followed diligently to install a bathroom wall towel rack. Do share more tips if you have any such experience too.
