Hello there, I recently changed the drawer slides of my cupboard. So, I can show you how do I install drawer slides. I learnt this from my dad, who had an interest in DIY woodwork.
How do you Install Drawer Slides?
Start by measuring from the inside floor of your cabinet and mark a height of 8.25 inches near the front and back of each side wall.
Take a straightedge and draw a level line across the wall on each inside wall with the help of the marks. Make a mark on each line, such that it is ⅞ inch from the front edge of the cabinet.
Now, you need to align the bottom edge of the first slide above the line. Place the front edge of the slide behind the mark close to the cabinet’s face.
Hold the slide tightly in position and push the extension forward till you see that both sets of screw holes are visible.
Drill small holes in one screw hole near the front and back of the slide. With the screws, mount the slide to the inside portion of the cabinet.
Like the first slide, mount the second drawer slide on the opposite end of the cabinet.
With a tape measure, mark the centre of the height of the drawer box on the outer side walls.
With a straightedge, mark a horizontal line along the outside portion of the drawer box. Do this on each side of the drawer box.
Take off the detachable portion of each drawer slide, and keep it on the corresponding drawer slide. Position each slide, such that they are centred on their corresponding line and flush with the face of the drawer box.
Mount the slide to the drawer with a drill and screws. Hold the drawer at the appropriate level in front of the cabinet.
Place the ends of the slides attached to the drawers into the cabinet’s tracks. Slide the drawer in position by pressing the drawer’s sides evenly.
Take a wood glue and apply it to the drawer box’s face. Position the drawer face with equal gaps along the top and side edges. Do so with the drawer closed.
Slide the drawer to open it and drive 1 inch screws through the holes in the drawer box and into the back of the drawer face.
This is how do I install drawer slides. I hope it helps you.

You need to align the slide flush along the front of the drawer and centre across the width of the drawer.
Notch the drawer box if the drawers contain an overlapping front so that the slide fits the flush.
Position the slide in the centre so use screws to secure the front and back.
Lift the slide to the face frame and use a screw to secure it. If you are working with embedded drawers you need to install a 34’’ thick mounting block inside the face frame so that you can secure the slide with a screw.
Take a mounting bracket to secure the slides and attach it to the cabinet.
Now you need to nail-in or use adhesive glide pads to the face frame.
You can follow this process if you are wondering ‘ how to install soft close drawer slides?’
I hope you like the process I have mentioned about How to Install Drawer Slides.
