• He asked me to measure the area and calculate the square footage and then to order 5% to 10% extra tile for cutting and waste.

• After that he asked me to ensure that the surface is clean and dry. In case of concrete, he told me to use a wet sponge to remove dirt. And for wood sub-floors, he said to clean thoroughly and install tile backer board as necessary.

Step 2: Installing the Marble

• He asked me to find the centre of the wall and mark reference lines using chalk. Then he told me to experiment with the tile layout starting from this center point.

• After that, he told me to apply a thin adhesive layer with a notched trowel in small sections and then install the tiles along reference lines using spacers.

• Now, he asked me to wait 24 hours. 

• Following that, I had to make a grout mixture and apply it.  To wipe off the excess he told me to use a damp sponge. 

Finally, he told me to clean the entire surface thoroughly to remove grout haze and wait 24 hrs before applying the marble tile sealer. And that’s how to fix marble on wall. I hope this helps.

5. Take a notched trowel and spread the mortar on the floor. Develop grooves in the mortar with the notched edge of the trowel. 

6. For installation, spread the mortar on each tile and place it on the desired region. Do this over and over again till you reach the wall. 

7. Once you reach the wall, you will have to cut custom pieces to match the layout of the wall. Also, you will have to fit the tiles according to the permanent fixtures in the room. You can use a wet saw for this. Measure and draw a straight line with a pencil on marble tiles before making the cuts.

8. Wait for a day now.

9. After waiting for a day, mix and apply the grout as per the directions of the manufacturer.

10. You will have to wait for another day and then apply the sealer in this last step for marble tile fitting. I would recommend you apply multiple coats until you see the marble tile and the grout have stopped absorbing the sealer.
