How to install recessed led lighting ?

Recessed LED lights are now in trend, and they do well-lit the space and make it look beautiful. For our 2nd floor, we planned to opt for it and hired professionals and learnt the process of how to install recessed LED lighting. You will need to plan where you want to install the lights, cut holes in the ceiling to fit each fixture, do the necessary wiring work, and enjoy. 

How to Install Recessed Lighting?

Installing recessed lighting requires expertise and also patience. Here is the step-by-step process you need to follow:

• Start by marking where you want each light for even spacing across the ceiling

• Using a saw, cut openings in the ceiling where each light will fit. Make sure that you have precise measurements so that the lights fit in accurately

• After turning off the power, connect the fixture wires to the existing wiring in your ceiling and secure them with wire nuts.

• Push each light fixture into its hole, snapping the clips to secure them. Once they’re all in, turn on the power and check whether they are working or not

This is the basic process for how to install led recessed lighting in existing ceiling. You can give it a try only if you are good with measurement, aware of how wiring is done, and have the necessary tools. I would suggest you hire a professional, but you can take your call.

There are different types of lights available in the market. Each of these lights have a different lighting impact and look. Since my house has a high ceiling, I decided to put LED recessed ceiling lights. I searched high and low to figure out a way to install these lights with minimal damage to the wiring. Keep reading to know what I found. 

In case of new construction, I would recommend placing the light in such a way that there is equal distance between them. eg, for a ceiling that is 8-foot-high, you should keep a distance of four feet between each light.  

1. Light Source

   If you have a power source near to you, installing these lights will be breezy. You need to recognize your light source and switch it off from the mainline before any step. 

2. Housing :

   In case you don’t have proper recessed lighting housing on your chilling, you will need to create one. I would recommend hiring a professional for this step. 

3. Bulb :

   Insert the bulb in the correct position in the housing socket. Since household wiring is usually parallel, the trim ring will attach to the parallel wiring.

4. Trim :

   The next step is attaching the trim ring to the extended rim of the light can. Make sure the bulb and trim line up perfectly. 

You can restore power to the main source at this point. Switch on the light to check if they are working properly or not.
