Have you ever wondered how clean the kitchen is from where your food is coming from? Last month I visited a restaurant and was totally disappointed when I saw the kitchen. The sink happened to be just beside the kitchen and I could see flies sitting on the foods that were going to get served. I think restaurant kitchen cleaning should be done twice a day minimum. After all, who wants to fall sick having a great meal? It might seem a difficult task to clean the kitchen but trust me it is not if you use the right chemicals. Let me share the process and restaurant kitchen cleaning chemicals that need to be used. You can use these chemicals in your house kitchens as well and get done with the cleaning job easily.

How to keep your restaurant kitchen clean?

You can use detergent, vinegar, water and all to clean your restaurant kitchen but if the stains are hard or things are dirty more than expected, these things won’t work. There are 4 things you will need in that case

  • Detergents

  • Degreasers

  • Abrasives and

  • Acids

Daily cleaning

Kitchens should be cleaned daily and if possible twice a day. However, this depends on how much food you are cooking and how dirty the kitchen gets. If you clean your kitchen daily, you need not put a lot of effort to get the dirt or stains cleaned. Here is what you should clean

  • Clean the grills, fryers, flattops, and undersides for sure

  • Coffee makers, toasters, slicers, juicers, and mixers should also be cleaned daily

  • Sinks need to be made hygienic and clean so clean them with whatever you want and in the end, try to wipe it up with some lime water

  • The floors must also be cleaned with Dettol, phenyl or some other disinfectants

  • For cleaning daily, you can use detergents but I would suggest you not to use hard chemicals- acids or abrasives. If you use these daily, your things will get eroded and might not last long

Weekly cleaning

I know it is not possible to clean everything in the kitchen minutely, especially the doors, windows, chimneys and more.

So use acids, abrasives and degreasers once a week to clean the stains and grease from

  • Doors

  • Windows

  • Walls

  • Ovens/fryers

  • Racks

  • Fridge

  • Freezer

You can buy the chemicals online but note that the chemicals generally used are

  • Chlorine

  • Ammonia

  • Iodine

  • Bleach

  • Quat

Avoid using harmful chemicals and try to stick to these only.

I hope this answers the process for restaurant kitchen cleaning and also what chemicals can be used.
