Start by making a list of all the essential items that you might need on the first day in your new home. Now, dedicate a few boxes to pack these things first and mark the box as Essentials. 

Add Room Names

To make sure that the boxes are placed in proper rooms, label each box with the name of the room. This will help the movers in understanding which box goes in which room. 

Label Multiple Sides of the Boxes

Labeling multiple sides makes your unpacking process much easier. You don’t have to turn or angle the boxes every time you want to check their names.

How to Label a Package Box?

1. I recommend you first pick good supplies like good quality waterproof and permanent markers. You can also print box labels if you wish to.

2. Make a list of all the items to be moved and categorise them room by room. Write the name, description quantity and any other details you wish. Make sure you label the fragile ones and others that need special care.

3. You can then start labelling the boxes. Here are some techniques you can use:

1. Assign one colour to each category and write the name of the item according to the assigned colour. If you have chosen yellow for kitchen items, write all those in yellow and so on.

2. You can also label by content. Write the names of all the items in the specific box on top to find the particular item easily.

I’ll share a tip before ending my answer. Write the label on all four sides of the boxes as it will be easier to unpack and move the items in the specific locations.

• If you have less materials, just write the room name and let that box contain a particular room’s materials only.

People often use stickers or stick papers on boxes but I will personally suggest, do not use glue. Often I have seen that pasting stickers with glue does make things messy. You can use good quality tape for this purpose.
