There are various designs, textures, and general designs available for roofing tiles. As an alternative to the typical concrete roof, tile roofs can go with a variety of contemporary home designs. So let’s study more about stone slab roofing.

Consult designers from NoBroker to place the tiles on the roof perfectly.

What is the process to lay stone roof tiles?

Roofs with slopes higher than 25 degrees are ideal for stone tiles. It is perfect for house roofs since the tile looks better as the slope keeps increasing. Ensure the surface is level before you begin. If it isn't, use cement or a fine material to level the surface.

1) You must place the first tile on the board with the top pointing up and centred. Now at the stone tile's bottom, hammer a nail into the board. Not too deeply insert the nail. Make sure the tile has a 3-inch overhanging from the end of the board.

2) You need to apply extra mortar to offer further stability under the initial clay tile.

Then place another tile on top of the internal end of the first tile. You must adjust the second tile's end by measuring from the outermost point.

3) Similar to how you installed the first tile, nail the second tile to the board. Then install two more tiles as you performed with the first one on the opposite side of the slope. This is one of the main factors in how to lay stone roof tiles.

4) You have to calculate the length across the slope from the outer edges of the initial tiles at either end of the slope. The number of tiles to install can be calculated by deducting 16 inches, then dividing the figure by 8.

5) You can begin at the second tile from the board’s end. Install half of the slope tiles after installing the tiles from edge to edge toward the centre of the ridge. Install the other tiles to the board’s centre starting from the opposite end. At the centre of the slope, a major tile is mortared in place.

Now you are aware of the stone slab roofing concept.
