My house used to be so spacious until the kids were born, and now the house is really clumsy with all their things. I really want to make it spacious and then I got an idea about installing a wall mounted bed. First, he started by cutting two long pieces of plywood for the side rails of the frame and two shorter pieces for the header and footer.
After assembling these into a rectangular frame, he added two large plywood boards as the base to support the mattress, securing them firmly with screws.
Then came the tricky part which is adding support beams inside the frame. He cut ten pieces of wood and spaced them evenly inside, securing each with screws.
Once the bed frame was solid and sturdy, he moved on to building the cabinet to house the bed when it is folded up.
For the cabinet, he cut and assembled four large pieces of plywood into a rectangular frame. He had to make sure it was tall enough for the bed to fold up into.
After assembling the cabinet, he stained the wood to match the rest of my room’s decor. It was a bit of a messy job, but the result was worth it.
Finally, installing the hardware was the last step. He secured the cabinet to the wall with L-brackets and attached the rotating mechanism, and added a handle on the front for easy pulling down.
