How to Make Burgundy Color Acrylic Paint?

• Red Base: 

Use red acrylic paint as the first colour in your design. Squeeze some onto your mixing palette or a clean surface, or drop a little amount there.

• Add Blue:

You'll need blue acrylic paint to darken and adjust the tone towards burgundy. Blue paint is a powerful colour, so start with a very small amount and add more as needed.

• Mix Gradually:

Gradually integrate the blue paint into the red paint using a paintbrush or mixing stick. Start by mixing it completely after adding a very small amount of blue. The secret is to gradually blend while monitoring the colour.

• Test the Colour: 

To make certain that your burgundy is as expected, test it on a different surface or a scrap of paper. Assess it under the intended lighting because the lighting circumstances can change how it looks.

• Adjust as Necessary:

Do you want to know how to make burgundy color? Being a painter, I love playing with colours. I have recently experimented with creating burgundy. Burgundy is a reddish-brown colour called after red burgundy wine, particularly the Burgundy wine from France.

Burgundy is sometimes mistaken for maroon, although it is a brighter, less brownish red than maroon.

It's a dark hue that's frequently mistaken for maroon. It's more accurately described as a mix of red-brown and purple. Apart from maroon, burgundy has a purple undertone, whereas maroon is much more brown.

Maroon is a colour that combines red and brown.

To make maroon paint with only basic colours, start by mixing a 5:1 ratio of blue into a red foundation. To achieve the maroon's brownish hue, add a very small amount of yellow paint after darkening the red with the blue. If it doesn't look perfect, simply adjust the ratios till you have the hue you want.

Burgundy is made up of several tones of red. 

To make burgundy, I tried three different permutations and combinations using and mixing different colours.

• The first experiment I made was blending the primary colours red and blue, followed by brown. I blended red and blue to get brown, then mixed it again with red (and this is where your preference will come into play). The lighter the burgundy undertone, the brighter the red combination. When employing a darker red combination, the opposite effect will be seen. And that's essentially how the colour burgundy is created

• The second combination I tried was to start with purple, maybe around 20% (if you're mixing with acrylic paint, simply estimate it with your preference), then red, approximately 30%, and black, 50%, because burgundy is a darker tone in its base form. You'll receive a burgundy outcome that's close to 100 percent

• The third option is to employ hex colours, which are 42 percent red, 21 percent blue, 2 percent green, and 35 percent black. This is an example of being technical by manipulating the hexadecimal to achieve the same effect. This colour is similar to burgundy in appearance
