An indoors-outside vibe can be created in your home with a sliding glass door. There are no pests or poor weather to worry about as you relax in your living area, kitchen, or sitting room. Since the colours and landscape of your garden merge with the interior. Let me help you with making the sliding french doors.

Take the help of carpenters from NoBroker to make your doors look like french doors.

Guide to making french style sliding patio doors:

  • You should measure the width and height of each pane of glass in your sliding glass doors. To calculate the number of horizontal glass panels, divide the width of the glass by 11, using the usual window panel dimensions of 8 inches high by 11 inches wide.

  • To get the number of vertical glass panels, divide the vertical length by 8. Add any leftovers evenly among the window panes you've chosen, changing the size as necessary.

  • Starting at the bottom of the glass, evaluate the first row of glass panels' width and length. For even rows, use a level. Use a pencil to trace each glass panel on the sliding glass doors.

  • Lay a plastic drop cloth on the floor. Then you have to paint the wooden studs with a brush in either white, black, or a paint colour that matches the frame. This will help you with how to make sliding glass doors look like french doors.

  • For a shiny appearance, choose a semigloss paint finish. After giving the painted studs 20 minutes to dry, add a second coat of paint and give it another 20 minutes to dry. After adding a third layer of paint, give it another 20 minutes to cure.

  • Make clean cuts using a sharp blade to trim the studs to the prescribed lengths. Spread glue on one of the shorter studs on the sides and position it vertically on the glass. Following the pencil line that is the nearest to the left side of the glass.

  • Apply some pressure to the joint as you fasten it using painter's glue. Every vertical rod along the bottom row should be applied as you move across the glass.

  • One of the longer studs should adhere to the glass horizontally across the pencil line that joins the vertical rod. That is nearest to the left side of the glass with the left edge of the glass. Apply glue to the side of the longer stud.

  • You can utilise painter's tape to firmly fix the rod to the glass. Apply each horizontal stud in turn as you move across the glass, completing the first row of finished glass panels.

  • Assemble rows of glass panels on both sides of the sliding glass door by following the instructions in Steps 6 and 7.

  • Then you have to gently peel off the adhesive you have applied.
