The person took a 12-inch ruler and measured the area of the room from one corner to another easily. Of course it was time consuming but trust me, it works perfectly. He also stated some other ways to measure a room by using:
Hand
A4 standard size sheets
Height of a person
Money (It is going to take hours though)
All you need to do in the end is just multiply the length and width of the area and get the sq footage or size of the room.
Our room was 10 feet wide and 11 feet long so the square footage was 110 sq ft and trust me, it came to be the same after measuring it with the measuring tape.
