Hi Buddy,

The National Pension Scheme (NPS), which was started by the Indian government, is the best retirement savings plan in the country because of its dependability, low-cost structure, tax benefits, flexibility, and strong returns. I have opened an NPS account and would love to clarify your ambiguity about how to open NPS account online?

Calculate your EMI on home loan with the help of the NoBroker EMI calculator.

When compared to similar pension systems around the world, NPS offers the lowest maintenance costs. Subscribers can build a healthy retirement fund by taking advantage of minimal maintenance costs and the potential of compounding returns.

In an era of escalating healthcare costs, inflation, uncertain economic situations, and longer life expectancies, establishing a sizable retirement corpus and a consistent monthly income are critical. Because they are not entitled to a monthly pension from their company, retirement savings and pension plans are especially crucial for salaried persons in the private sector.

The National Pension System (NPS) is a voluntary social security programme that can be accessed online. The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority is in charge of it (PFRDA). Its goal is to provide financial advantages in the form of a pension after retirement.

The federal government created the New Pension Scheme (NPS), a social security scheme, in 2014. The New Pension Scheme is a contribution-based plan that gives retirees market-linked returns.

The PFRDA is in charge of NPS operations. You can open an NPS account using one of two methods:

How to open NPS account online?  Online Mode:

Individuals can easily open an NPS account on the internet.

  • To register online, go to the

eNPS

website.

  • Your NPS account must be linked to your mobile number, Aadhaar, and Permanent Account Number (PAN).

  • An OTP will be given to your registered mobile number to complete the validation.

  • You (the subscriber) will receive a Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN) after completing the registration process, which you can use to log into your NPS account.

Offline Mode:

You can open an NPS account at certain banks and post offices that have been designated as Points of Presence (PoP).

  • Find a PoP near you and fill out an NPS subscription form. Fill out the form and attach photocopies of your KYC documents such as your Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, and so on.

  • If you are a current customer of the bank, you will not be required to submit the KYC documents because your information will already be stored in their database.

  • Put money into your account for the first time. It should not be less than 500 rupees (excluding tax). In a given year, the minimum contribution to a Tier I NPS account is Rs.1,000. You will also be required to pay a one-time registration charge.

  • The PoP will provide you with your PRAN (Permanent Retirement Account Number). The PRAN and password will be included in the welcome kit and can be used to manage your account online.

  • Through the NSDL NPS portal or your internet banking account, you can access your NPS account online.

  • NPS was originally intended solely for central government employees, but the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) later expanded it to include all people. As a result, the new pension programme is available to any private sector or self-employed employee. It's also worth noting that the new pension plan is portable across different locations and jobs.

All central government employees (with the exception of the Armed Forces) who started work after January 2004 are eligible to create a new pension scheme account, while state government personnel may have various deadlines.

I would like to conclude here. I hope this answer suffices your query about how to open NPS account online.
