During our move, I was really worried about how to pack a TV when moving, but thanks to the professionals from NoBroker. They brought with them the appropriate boxes and even a protective and customised manufactured in-home box to pack our 55” TV. But if you want to do it yourself, here is what you can do: bubble wrap the TV or wrap it with a few blankets; find a dedicated box to put it in for extra safety; and keep it in a place where it won't move much.

How to Wrap a TV for Moving?

Here is a simple suggestion on how do you pack a TV for moving and prevent it from getting damaged during the move:

  • Start by covering the screen with a soft blanket or cloth to shield it from scratches. If you have bubble wrap, wrap the whole TV with it or place that over the blanket for extra protection.

  • Use the original box if you still have it. If not, find a sturdy box that fits the TV and make sure to add plenty of cushioning, like foam or more bubble wrap, around the edges so it doesn’t move around.

  • Next, tape the box securely and label it “Fragile - TV.” People will understand how they need to handle it carefully during the move.

  • Make sure that you place it upright in the truck, as TVs remain safe when transported vertically.

This is how you can pack and move your TV. If you feel you lack the packing goods or method, I suggest you hire professionals. They have dedicated items, as I said, hence know the best way to pack TV or other goods.

How to pack a Computer for Moving?

While shifting houses, I decided to pack my TV myself and let packers and movers deal with the other heavier furniture. I researched how to pack a TV for moving and here I have mentioned below the steps I took to pack and safely move my TV.

How to Pack TV to Move?

  • I gathered bubble wrap, packing tape, moving blankets, and a sturdy moving box.

  • I disconnected all cables, including power cords and external devices. I kept the cables and remote control together in a small bag marked for easy retrieval.

  • I cleaned the screen with a microfiber cloth to remove dust and fingerprints.

  • I laid the TV screen-side down on a moving blanket. I wrapped the screen with bubble wrap to provide cushioning. I secured the wrap with packing tape.

  • I placed the wrapped TV into the sturdy moving box, ensuring it was well-padded and cushioned.

  • I labelled the box as “Fragile” and “This Side Up” to ensure careful handling. I sealed the box securely with packing tape.

  • During the move, I ensured the TV was placed upright and handled with care to avoid jostling or impacts.

I got my TV in perfect condition at the final destination. I was proud of my packing skills. I hope you too would be able to do it after reading the steps on how to pack a TV for movers.

How to Remove TV from Wall Mount?

When I was moving houses from Delhi to Gurgaon, I was quite worried about my newly-bought television. I had thrown out the original box that it came in. I was desperate to know how to pack TV for moving without box.

I called up my brother to figure it out. He said that I can actually pack my TV without box using bubble wraps and a bedsheet. I asked him if it would be safe, to which he replied, yes it will be safe if I do a decent packing job.

I bought bubble wraps and carefully took the Tv down from the wall. I disconnected all the wiring, dusted the screen and started wrapping the bubble wrap around it. I went a step ahead and placed a foam sheet on the screen and back of the TV before securing it with generous layers of bubble wrap.

I secured everything with the tape and used a bedsheet to further secure it. My Television set was in perfect condition when it reached to my new apartment.

You can follow the similar approach if you are wondering how to pack a flat screen TV without a box. But let me tell you, I did it on my own because I had very less belongings to move. If you are shifting houses, consider getting packing and moving done by professionals.

I hope this helps you out in your moving journey.

Hello buddy, I moved to Chandigarh with my family last month, and along with all the other appliances, I also packed our TV. So, I can help you learn how to pack a television for moving.

How to Pack a TV when Moving?

Before you start the packing process, take pictures of the wiring and cable connections. This will help you in connecting the TV to your new place with ease. Remove the TV, with all the other accessories carefully.

After this, arrange the TV components separately and the accessories separately. Store the accessories in the plastic bags and label them.

Now, you must protect the TV screen using the original protective sleeve. If the original material is unavailable, take two layers of bubbles to cover the screen.

Use packing tape to keep the screen covering in place. While you do so, ensure that the tape doesn’t touch the screen.

Let me share

the actual packing process

now.

  • Take the original box and insert it around the sides and back of the television.

  • If you don’t have the original box, pad either of the TV corners with foam or bubble wrap and place it into the packing box.

  • Tape the box and label the box fragile, along with marking the top and the back side of the TV.

So, this is how to pack TV to move. I hope you find this useful.
