How to Pack an Office Chair for Moving?
Make adjustments to the chair by lowering its height to the lowest mark possible. The same goes for the back, chair cylinder, and arms of the chair. The seat slider must slide back if possible.
Now, wrap the hydraulic rod and each arm of the chair using a layer of bubble wrap. Do so for the gas cylinder, the part that joins the backrest to the seat, and the star base as well.
Keep the wrapping in place by using packing tape. Then, cover the chair's body with a moving blanket. It’s better if you have a protective slipcover to cover the chair instead. Use the packing tape to keep the coverings in position.
You then need to spread a large moving blanket on the floor. Then, place the chair on its back on top of the blanket. Place the chair towards the corner of the blanket nearest to the top of the chair. This will ensure that the larger portion of the blanket is at the base of the chair.
Next, wrap the blanket around the chair by starting from the sides and then folding the top corner. The blanket’s corners should overlap over the seat and cover the cylinder in its entirety.
Pull the bottom corner over the base of the chair in a way that the five legs and the castor are all covered.
Tape around the base and the back of the chair, followed by taping across and under the seat.
