Very recently I wanted to refresh my old wooden louver doors in my new house but then, I had no idea where to start. So, I called in some professional painters to understand how to paint wooden louvre doors properly. Watching them work gave me a clear understanding of the process. It was very simple, and I saw how they worked. I have shared what the painters did and here are the steps for you:
How to Paint Louvered Doors With a Brush?
First, they removed the doors off the hinges, which makes the work much easier. Then they cleaned the doors properly, making sure to remove dust, stuck in the corners.
This step is essential to get rid of old paint and ensure the new paint sticks well. I then saw that they paid special attention to sand between the slats, using a sanding sponge to get into the tricky areas.
Once sanded, they had put a primer to help the paint adhere better. After allowing the primer to dry, the painter began to paint a louvered door with a brush and small roller.
The key here was patience. They took their time painting each slat individually, making sure to not to make drips.
They painted in thin layers, waiting for one layer to dry before applying the next. This kept the finish smooth and even.
In the end, the doors looked great, and the fresh paint really gave the room a new feel. It’s definitely a task you can take on yourself, but calling a professional makes it easier and ensures the job is done right.
