How to paint a wall?

Hey Arindham, I saw you asking how do you paint a wall and I can help. My partner and I painted a wall last week in our bedroom and it turned out pretty good. You have to start by applying painter’s tape, cleaning the walls comes next and I’ll share the rest below.

How To Do Painting on Wall?

Here is the method:

1. Start by moving your furniture and other items out of the panting area. Alternatively, cover them well with a drop cloth or a bubble wrap. 

2. Then, apply painter’s tape to cover everything around the trim at the top and bottom of the wall. Also, apply tape around the windows and doorways. 

3. Clean the wall by wiping a sponge dipped in a solution of mild dishwashing liquid if the applied paint is washable. Otherwise, use a moist sponge.

4. Look for any chipping, holes and cracks. Use paint filler and a putty knife to fix the flaws. Let the filler dry completely. 

5. Wipe the wall with a soft and dry cloth. Then, apply a coat of primer and let it dry completely. 

6. Around the edges, use a small brush and precisely paint till you cover the trim, edges and corners. 

7. Take a paint roller and paint the wall from up to down. Make a 3 by 3 foot W shape with the roller and work your way back across that W without lifting the roller. This is a faster technique to paint.

8. Once the paint has been applied to the wall, let it dry fully and apply a second coat. 

9. Wait for it to dry before using the space.

• Place a rug on the floor and cover all the furniture with clothes before painting. Fill a bucket with water and non-abrasive cleaner and start cleaning your walls by dipping a sponge. Let the wall dry after cleaning.

• If you encounter any holes or cracks fill it up with putty and use a putty knife to smoothen the surface of the wall. Remove the excess dust by taking a damp cloth. You have to follow the methods I am mentioning to learn how to paint a wall.

• Purchase painter's tape to cover the surface next to the walls including door frames, windows, baseboards, etc.

• Paint the corners using the paintbrush and use the roller while painting the other portions of the wall. Let the paint dry once you're finished.

• Apply a second coat after the whole thing dries up.

• Now, remove the painter's tape and clean your roller and brush underwater.
