As Diwali is approaching, I have started painting my house. For this project, I hired professional painters from NoBroker. I have installed a few ceiling lights and it was a challenging task for me to paint around it. Hence, I hired painters for a perfect finish. As I witnessed the entire painting process, I can share the steps on how to paint around ceiling lights. The steps might sound easy but trust me it requires precision and expertise to achieve a perfect result.

How to Paint around Ceiling Spotlights?

  • They removed the fixture's canopy, which is the bowl-shaped, spherical piece that is pressed firmly against the ceiling, and lowered it to paint neatly.

  • As the wiring was visible, they switched off the electricity of the house. The canopy hides the electrical box.

  • After this, they covered the fixture with a thin layer of plastic sheeting to shield it from paint splashes.

  • Now outside of the canopy's coverage, they painted the ceiling with a brush.

  • To cover the remaining ceiling, they used a paint roller equipped with an extendable pole that can be adjusted.

  • After the paint dried, the painters lifted the canopy again, tightened the fasteners, and took out the plastic.

These are the steps that were followed by the painters. Hope this was helpful.
