How to Paint Outdoor Stone Wall?
The first step of any painting process is ensuring a thorough cleaning. So, take up a garden hose with a spray nozzle and rinse all the dust, dirt, or any other debris off the wall. Then, you also need to scrub the surface a little with a soft-bristled brush and a cleaning solution. Make sure you read the manufacturer\'s instructions. Here are the next steps for painting a stone wall.
You must prepare the area where you will be painting. This includes cleaning the windows, trims, and other materials close to the wall. Then, apply painter’s tape to the materials at the edge of the stone.
Now, with a putty knife, smoothen the surface to make it flat so that it’s safe from any drip of paint.
The next step is to prime the stone surface. Apply the primer that’s specifically made for masonry. This will help the paint adhere well to the surface.
After priming, you can paint the wall. Start with the edges with a 3 inch paintbrush, then move around with a roller. Allow the paint to sit for a while before moving with the second layer.
Now that you’re with painting, you can remove the painter’s tape and trim the edges if necessary.
