A month ago, I planned to paint the inside of my window sills because it would complete the look of my windows. It was also a good starting point for decorations to be put near the window. Here are the steps I found and followed which might help you as well.
The first step was to prepare the surface completely. I began by using a wet towel to wipe the sills clear of dust and filth. I next used fine-grit sandpaper to polish the surfaces so that the paint would adhere correctly.
I then used a primer. This was essential for preventing stains and guaranteeing improved topcoat adherence. The stain-blocking primer I used earlier did a good job of getting the wood ready for painting.
After the primer was totally dry, I chose my paint. I chose high-gloss latex paint, which is renowned for its longevity and cleanliness, making it ideal for window sills that frequently become grimy or dusty.
I chose to paint my window sills a beautiful off-white color to go with the aesthetics of the wooden window frame and create a uniformity of look.
I carefully painted the corners and edges with an angled brush first, then the flat areas with a tiny roller. I could minimise brushstrokes and effectively cover the area because of this combo.
I applied two coats, waited for everything to completely dry, and then put all the decorations I had in mind on my window sills.
Finally, to improve durability, I applied a protective sealer.
Following this method upgraded the overall look of my room. But, seriously telling you, don’t try to do it on your own, as it was too tiring for painting window sills inside on my own.
