Hi there, we were painting our living room and there was a rounded corner that connected to the kitchen. We saw the rounded corner as a tricky area to paint. So, we looked up how to paint curved corners. With the help of the guide, we were able to get a clean and smooth paint transition from one room to another through the rounded corner. Let me tell you how to do the same.

How to Paint Through Curved Corners?

Below, you can find the complete process:

  1. Start by painting one side of the corner in your desired colour.

  2. Then, cross over to the centre line of the corner.

  3. Let the paint air dry completely.

  4. Take blue tape and place it at the exact mark where you wish to start the new colour. The tape needs to be on the side of the corner that will be newly painted. Press down the tape to secure it.

  5. Use white, paintable caulking and spread a really thin layer along the tape’s edge. The caulking should be applied on the side, which is yet to be painted. Don’t mistake it with the already-painted one. Make sure the caulking covers the tape’s edge.

  6. After the caulking dries completely, paint the corner or wall with your second chosen colour.

  7. Once the paint coat dries, take off the tape and you’ll have a smooth transition between the two colours, with a thin straight line separating the two.

That’s a wrap from my end.

Hey Soahil, I came across your question on how to paint rounded wall corners. I am here to help you by sharing a quick process for the same. You first have to determine the line where the colours meet. Then comes applying the painter’s tape to begin the painting process. I shall describe the complete method below.

How to Paint a Rounded Corner?

Here is the process:

  1. Use the basebaord’s joint to see where the colours from the other room should stop and the colour for the next room should begin.

  2. Once you have found the line of the two colours meeting, apply masking tape over.

  3. You have to apply the tape such that it covers the previously painted wall only. Press the tape to increase its adhesion.

  4. Pick a paintbrush and dip it in the base coat. Paint towards the edge of the masking tape and previously painted wall.

  5. After the paint dries out, use your second colour and paint along the taped edge. Make sure to use a separate paintbrush for this.

  6. Brush away from the edge of the tape. Then, remove the tape by slowly and evenly pulling it away.

  7. You may have to touch up in some areas where the paint didn’t seep through.

So, this is how to paint rounded corners. I hope you find the steps useful.

My house wall corners are rounded. When I hired professional painters to paint the wall, I learned how to paint rounded wall corners. Although painting wall corners might be challenging, the correct technique will result in a polished, seamless finish.

How to Paint Edges of Walls?

I can share the steps that the painters adopted while painting my house round wall corners;

  • Apply painter’s tape where the wall meets the ceiling and any trim, carefully following the curve of the corners. The wall colour of one room should not go into another room. So all you have to do is locate your stopping point.

  • Next, make cuts around the rounded corners with the angled brush. You can draw a crisp line and follow the curve with steady strokes.

  • Once the edges are done, paint the bigger portions of the wall with your little roller.

  • For a seamless appearance, include the rolled sections into the brushed borders.

  • Wait until the paint dries fully before applying more coats.

  • Finally, carefully remove the tape to reveal your clean, rounded corners.

I hope this helps you understand how do you paint corners of walls. By following these steps on, you can achieve a professional-looking finish on rounded wall corners.
