Hey! I wanted to give our bedroom wall a new look and decided to paint stripes. So, I can show you how do you paint stripes on a wall. I searched about the process online and found that you need to first paint the base layer and then move forward. 

How do I Paint Stripes on a Wall?

1. Start by painting the wall using the lightest colour of your choice. Let the paint dry before you begin taping.

2. Now, measure the distance of the wall where you need to measure the length of vertical stripes and the height of the horizontal stripes.

3. Next, divide the total distance in inches by an odd number. This will give you the thickness of each stripe.

4. Start near the corner of the wall at the bottom portion. Measure 5 inches up from the wall’s baseboard and do a small marking on the wall.

5. Continue this process of marking the wall in 5-inch measurements till the point you are 5 inches from the ceiling.

6. Trace the line through the markings you have made using a level. Move the level a bit and continue the line till you reach the other side.

7. Tape the wall with painter’s tape. Place a piece of the tape above the lowest line, then alternative the tape below and above each of the lines.

8. Start painting the portion between the tape with a darker colour. Paint over the edge of the tape to make a transition between the stripes. 

9. Pull the tape steadily after the paint has dried for a few minutes. The paint should be in a state where it can’t be touched while you do so. I recommend this because the longer the tape stays on the wall, the greater the chances of it pulling the paint in the process.
