How to patch large hole in concrete wall?

Small Patches

Vertical cracks and holes which are ½ inch in width and can be cleaned and filled easily with repair caulk. Concrete caulk can be used with a caulking gun and a finishing trowel which is required for smoothening the texture. Before applying these materials it is better to brush away the weak concrete and clean the area before applying the caulking.

  Medium Holes

For a 1-inch wide hole, quick-setting cement with an acrylic fortifier can be used. Acrylic fortifier is important because it helps the cement from further cracking due to uneven drying. While using acrylic additives a cement patch is required for curing. Cover the patch with plastic and water it several times to avoid uneven drying.

  Large Holes

To patch one large hole, you can use clean rubble to prevent the concrete from falling into the empty space. Apply cement adhesive to the new concrete and use ready mix concrete to fill the patch on the wall. You should cover the hole with a piece of plywood temporarily. Use water several times to avoid uneven drying.
