I can help you with how to prevent dust from entering home through windows. Of course, cleaning your house daily is the most effective one but I know, it's hard as well. That is why I have installed window films. They block dust to a great extent. There are other measures you can take so let me just highlight them next.

How to Prevent Dust From Entering Home in India?

Here are some suggestions I can share on how to avoid dust from windows:

  • Use Window Film: Apply window film that can help reduce the amount of dust entering through gaps. It also adds an extra layer of insulation.

  • Grow Indoor Plants: Certain indoor plants like peace lilies, spider plants, pothos and others help to filter dust and improve air quality. Place them near windows to act as natural dust catchers.

  • Use Curtains or Blinds: Hang heavy curtains or blinds to help block dust. You should choose fabrics that are easy to clean and wash them often.

  • Air Purifiers: Put air purifiers near windows to catch dust before it spreads. Look for purifiers with HEPA filters for best results.

  • Clean Windowsills: Regularly clean your windowsills and tracks to stop dust buildup. A vacuum with a brush attachment can help with this.

Pretty sure these suggestions on how to prevent dust in house India will be helpful to you. If you have more to add, please let me know. I have severe dust energy hence am ready to take more precautions if needed.

My nephew is an asthma patient, so my sister keeps her home free from dust. I once asked her, how to prevent dust from entering home through windows. She told me that maintaining a clean and healthy interior environment depends on preventing dust from entering your home through windows.

How to Stop Dust Entering Home?

My sister informed me about the steps that she had followed to prevent the entry of dust. The following are some practical methods on how to stop dust from entering house:

  • Seal Cracks and Gaps:

Check your windows for any locations that are improperly sealed, have gaps, or have cracks. To stop dust from entering via these openings, weatherstripping or caulk should be used as a sealant.

  • Install Window Screens:

Install window screens with a fine mesh to serve as a barrier against insects and dust. Make sure the displays are undamaged and in good condition.

  • Use Draft Stoppers:

Place draft stoppers at the bottom of windows to block the passage of dust and drafts.

  • Keep Windows Closed:

On windy and dusty days, keep windows closed to prevent dust from blowing in. Use air conditioning or fans for ventilation.

  • Regular Cleaning:

To get rid of accumulated dust, periodically clean the windowsills, frames, and surrounding areas. Clean with a moist cloth or vacuum.

  • Window Treatments:

Use curtains, blinds, or shades as window treatments to give an additional degree of protection. Pick materials that are simple to wash or clean.

  • Use an Air Purifier:

To catch any dust that might enter the room, think about using an air purifier with a HEPA filter.

  • Maintain Landscaping:

To cut down on dust sources, and keep outdoor spaces well-maintained.

You can follow these steps to learn how to prevent dust entering through windows.

You can drastically minimise the amount of dust that enters your home through windows by using these techniques, creating a cleaner and healthier living environment.

I hope this helps you with how to prevent dust from entering home through windows.

My battle with dust was a never-ending one. I always tried searching on the internet how to prevent dust from entering the home. One day I was discussing this with my friend and he gave me some good tips to keep my house clean. He gave me some pretty good suggestions and thankfully my war with dust is over now!

I will share below some tips on how to avoid dust at home.

Declutter your home space

We always have used items lying around the house for no reason. I tended to keep the empty bottles and jars inside my home. Those items only take up space and dust falls on them after a while. Therefore, I have started throwing away the items I don't use anymore.

Clean your air conditioner from time to time

If you have an air conditioner in the room, clean the rear net of the air conditioner. It contains a lot of dirt which must be cleaned every once in a while. Try to have your air conditioner serviced at least once a year.

Avoid using rugs and mats

Rugs and mats trap a lot of dust when someone walks on them. If you have rugs and mats try cleaning them at least once a month by either washing with shampoo or just vacuum cleaning them.

Avoid using drapes

If you are wondering how to prevent dust in room you must avoid using curtains. Curtains or drapes gather layers of dust very fast. You can use blinds made of wood or metal to prevent dust in your room.

These are processes you can follow on how to prevent dust from entering home in India. These are some easy tips and I am sure you will get good results within a month if you can follow these tips.

Have plants near your windows

You can keep snake plants, money plants, or ivy near your window or balcony. These plants prevent your home from dust and purify the air. The moisture that these plants release into the air, hydrates the home air naturally.

I hope my answer on how to prevent dust from entering home was helpful.
