If you have paid more money to a builder from home loan than they are supposed to receive, no need to worry. You can get your money back by taking the following steps: 

  1. Try to first communicate with the builder to discuss your situation. He might be ready to give back the extra money. 

  2. If the first method doesn’t work, you may send a formal request for the excess payment to be returned. 

  3. If the builder still refuses to refund your money, you can take legal action against him. Make sure you have a track of all the documents and receipts that attest to your payment.
