I was left stranded on my doorstep, completely locked out. So if you want to know how to get broken key out of lock, I can share the steps that I followed.

How Do You Get Broken Key Out of Lock?

• Contacted a professional locksmith: I contacted a professional locksmith. Locksmiths can repair the issue without causing any damage to the lock because they have the knowledge and tools necessary to operate with a variety of home and vehicle locks. 

The locksmith also shared a few more ways on how to pull a broken key out of a lock,

• Lubricate the lock: Apply a lubricant made especially for locks, such as graphite powder or a spray lubricant. To lessen friction and facilitate the removal of the broken key, apply it to the lock. 

• Use a magnet: Your keys must be composed of a magnetic substance (such as steel or iron). In this situation, you should be able to extract the trapped key by holding a magnet next to the lock to attract it.

You can use a key extractor tool by inserting it into the lock, turning it to catch the broken key and then slowly pulling the key out.

Apply a small amount of superglue to the end of a thin tool. Attach it to the broken key, wait for the glue to set, and then try to pull the key out.

You can also cut a small notch into the broken key using a jigsaw or hacksaw blade and use the blade to turn and extract the key.
