The best way to remove algae from the walls is from a detergent solution to scrub off them. We always face this problem during monsoon, when the dampness in the walls gives rise to mould and algae. This time, I found a solution from my mother-in-law, who suggested some methods to fight off the algae. I have shared a detailed guide on how to remove algae from wall below.

How to Clean Algae from Walls?

The detergent solution has worked for me well, so I will suggest the same method. These are the steps you can follow on how to clean algae off walls.

  1. To create a solution, mix any detergent powder with two cups of water, 1 cup of household cleaner, and ½ cup of bleach in 1 litre of water.

  2. Then, you can pour the solution into a spray bottle or simply apply the mixture on the wall and start scrubbing.

  3. Leave it for some time, at least for 15-20 minutes, so that the bleach solution will work effectively.

  4. Then, scrub the algae off the walls using a brush until the remaining moss gets cleared up. This will take some time, especially if the walls are extremely stained and damaged.

  5. Finally, you can remove the leftover moss by rinsing the walls thoroughly with water. This will put pressure, and will also remove the bleach from the surface.

These are the steps that I used, and it worked well. However, if your walls are severely damaged with rigid stains and this method doesn’t work, I would recommend getting a deep cleaning service.

I hope it helps.
