Hello Vijan, I would like to share my method regarding how to get rid of bad smell in bathroom drain. I read Mr Ashwin’s response, where he talked about using vinegar and baking soda. This is an effective method, which I’ve used myself, too.

So, I’ll tell you about the process to kill mould, which causes bad odour in bathroom drains.

I’ve faced this issue once and used liquid chlorine to remove the bad smell from my bathroom drain.

How to Get Rid of Odor from Bathroom Sink Drain?

Here is how I remove bad odour from your sink drain.

  1. First of all, I remove the drain cover.

  2. Then, I add 2 teaspoons of chlorine bleach in a bit of water and pour it into the drain.

  3. I then let this mixture remain in the drain for a minimum of 10 minutes.

  4. After this, I pour hot water into the drain.

  5. Finally, I clean, rinse and change the drain cover with a new one.

You too can adopt this method and get rid of bad smelling sink drain. I recommend you clean your drain once every month to avoid the buildup of dirt and bad odour. I hope you now know how do I get rid of a smelly bathroom drain.

Hey! I can help you learn how to remove bad smell from bathroom drain. You will need to add distilled white vinegar and baking soda to the drain. Before this, a few other activities are also involved. So, let me take you through them stepwise.

How to Get Rid of Smelly Drains in Bathroom?

We indulge in regular activities to clean the bathroom, and one of them is to get rid of the smell. I am sharing the same process we use to remove bad smells from our washroom’s drain.

  1. Take off the drain cover. You can do so by unscrewing the bolts and lifting up the cover. If the cover is stuck, you can lubricate the drain and try again.

  2. After removing the drain cover, clean it using hot water and an all-purpose cleaner. Then, take an old toothbrush and scrub it well.

  3. Bring 1 cup of distilled white vinegar and 1 cup of baking soda. Add the baking soda, followed by the vinegar. Let it sit for at least 10 minutes.

  4. At last, pour hot water into the drain and place the drain cover back.

This will eliminate bad smells coming out of the drain. It is a must that you clean the drain frequently to avoid bad smells. This will also help you put in less effort to clean. This is all I had to share regarding how to get rid of bad smell from bathroom drain. Have a nice day.
