Finding blood stains on your linens is annoying enough, but it's even more distressing when those stains seep onto your favourite mattress. Hence, it is critical to understand how to get rid of blood stains from mattress, regardless of the cause like a spilled drink, period, or so on. You can totally remove the stain with a little effort and the below suggestion.

How to Get Rid of Blood Stains on Mattress?

  • To remove as much stain as you can, blot the area with a fresh cloth or paper towel.

  • Make a paste by combining some cold water with baking soda.

  • Over the affected area, apply the paste.

  • Give it a half hour or so to sit.

  • Finally, use a vacuum to clear the area of any leftover debris and baking soda.

Once the stain has been effectively removed, the mattress should be given time to fully dry before using it. You can stimulate airflow by opening windows or placing a fan close to the mattress to hasten the drying process. I hope now you have an idea of how to get rid of blood stains in mattress.

Where Can I Sell My Old Bed or Mattress?

A stain on the mattress can be daunting. And if the stain is blood then it becomes extremely difficult to remove. And we girls have been in this situation at least once in our lives. I have experienced this many times since Aunty Flo invited herself in the middle of the night when I was sleeping, so after doing thorough research I learned how to remove blood stains from mattress. Let me share those tips with you so that you can also remove blood stains from your white mattress.

How to remove blood stain from bed?

Well, the first thing that comes to mind while cleaning a bloodstain is to use warm water since warm water can help us get rid of stains easily. But not when it's a bloodstain. When I was a kid I had Home Management classes and my teacher told me to avoid warm water for blood since it will leave a permanent mark or stains in my clothes. So, warm water is a big no-no!

Now if the stain is significantly new and it has dried up all you need to do is to:

  • Take a pinch of salt and rub it against the stain for a few seconds.

  • Now dip the stained region on cold water with a little bit of soap and the stain will disappear.

Salt has dehydrating properties which is the reason salt and cold water works the best when it comes to cleaning blood stains!

  • Damp the stain with cold water before applying the paste.

  • Now apply the paste on the stained area.

  • Let it stay for 30 minutes.

  • Now, dab the stain and clean it.

  • Let the mattress dry after the stain is removed.
