Check for any white flakes in the water. The presence of white flakes indicated excess calcium buildup.
This will remove some of the calcium. To remove the rest, use a descaling solution like vinegar. Pour the descaling solution into the water heater and let it sit for a few hours. After this, flush your tank again before switching on the water heater for reuse.
