Three days ago, I noticed a dark stain on the hardwood floor while walking around my house. I was not sure how to remove dark stains from hardwood floors, so I searched online for a solution. I found that white vinegar could help. I followed the steps and cleaned the area using vinegar. It worked really well. The stain is almost gone now. I have added the steps below for your reference.

How to Remove Dark Stains on Hardwood Floors?

  1. First, I took a bucket and added one cup of white vinegar to warm water.

  2. Then, I dipped a clean cloth in the mixture and soaked it well.

  3. Next, gently rubbed the dark stain with the cloth.

  4. After that, I let the vinegar water stay on the stain for some time.

  5. Again, I rubbed the spot, this time with a little more pressure.

  6. Finally, the dark stain was almost removed from the hardwood floor.

You too can try this method. Hope this helps you.

I learnt a simple DIY method on how to remove dark stains from hardwood floors from my mother so let me just share it with you. Make a paste using an equal amount of baking soda and warm water, apply it to the stained area, leave it for a minimum of 15 minutes, and wipe or wash it next. I am sure you will be stunned to see the result.

How to Remove Dark Water Stains from Hardwood Floors?

Here is my suggestion on how to remove dark water spots from hardwood floors at home using baking soda and lukewarm water:

  • First, take an equal amount of lukewarm water and baking soda

  • Mix them gently and make a paste

  • Apply the paste on the stained area and let it sit for 15 minutes

  • Wipe the area with a clean cloth or wash it with clean water

If the stains are hard, repeat the process or use bleach and toothpaste instead. This should work.
