Hello there. We too faced the issue of clogged drains due to grease buildup a few days back. I was able to remove the grease using two simple methods. The first one used dish soap and boiling water, while the other had baking soda and vinegar. So, I can tell you how to remove grease from drain pipes. I will write the detailed steps below.

How to Clean Grease in Drain Pipes?

Here are the methods you can follow to remove grease from your drain pipes:

Dish Soap and Boiling Water

  1. First up, remove any water, food or other particles present from the sink/basin. Use a bowl or cup to get the water out and rubber gloves for food and debris.

  2. You can then use dish soap to break up grease. Pour some dish soap down the drain pipes, followed by one kettle of boiling water.

  3. Wait for a few minutes, the water will start draining. Pour 1 more kettle full of boiling water and run hot water from the tap for some time.

Baking Soda and Vinegar

  1. Another way is by pouring half a cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by another half cup of vinegar.

  2. Give the mixture time to settle for 10-15 minutes.

  3. Pour a few cups of boiling water into the drain pipes.

So, these are the two processes you can follow. I hope you now know how to get rid of grease in drain pipes.
