How to remove mosquito from home?

In a humid country like India living in a mosquito-free home is next to impossible. Most of us use mosquito repellents to get rid of mosquitoes. But it has chemicals that can create some health hazards, especially if you have children. My little son would always stand on top of the bed and pick up the coil and he would start licking it. So, I decided to learn how to remove mosquitoes from home naturally.

How to eliminate mosquitoes at home?

After doing a little bit of research I understood how to remove mosquito from house. Mosquitoes love to lay eggs in stagnant water. So, any place which contains water for a long period of time must be taken care of. Just beside my house, we have drains. So to remove the mosquitoes I called the municipality to spray insecticides in the open drain. Besides, I ensure that there are no pits or holes inside the house where mosquitoes can lay eggs.

I also learned how to remove mosquito from room. Some of the natural ways to remove mosquitoes from the room includes

• Windows:

Close your windows once the sun comes down. Mosquitoes don't roam around during the day except for the ones which cause dengue. So, it's better to keep the window open during the day and shut it when the night falls. You can also install a mosquito net on your windows and open the window during the evening to enjoy the fresh air.

• Natural Repellent:

Small plants such as marigold, tulsi, lemongrass can help you get rid of mosquitoes as well as other pests. These plants will also help you purify the air you are breathing. So, you can lead a healthy lifestyle this way.

I also clean my floor and bathrooms with kerosine once a week. Kerosine has a strong smell and it is also a natural repellent for pests. 

• Lemon and Cloves

Well, we have heard about the 'Totka' that lemon and cloves can help you become rich. Well, luck was not favorable enough to bring money to my house, but this method helped me in getting rid of mosquitoes. Just cut a lemon in two halves and insert cloves into it. This will create a strong smell which will help you eliminate mosquitoes from the room.
