How to remove paint from floor?

I got to know about a cleaning mixture using vinegar that works well on tiles. Apart from this, more methods help in removing paint from the flooring. So, let me share those with you.

How to Remove Paint Off the Floor?

1. You can get rid of paint from a glazed or unglazed surface by making a natural cleaner. This works well for fresh paint stains. Add 1 cup of vinegar to 1 cup of water in a pan and heat it until the mix starts to boil. Now, take it off the stove and dip a cloth into the solution. Spread the cloth over the stain. Once you see the paint has started to soften, scrub it off using a nylon brush.

2. If the vinegar-water solution doesn’t do the job, you’ll need a paint remover. But before using it over the stain, apply it on a spot that doesn’t catch immediate attention and check whether the glaze of the tile is intact or not. You need to do this check especially when having a marble, travertine tile or a stone that’s prone to etching. 

3. The above two solutions work for tiles. So, this third method can be used over wooden flooring. You can remove paint from the surface by sanding it. If the stain isn’t big enough, then sandpaper sheets are enough, but in case it is a larger stain, go for an electric sander. Begin with a rough grit sandpaper, and once you can see the original wood through the stain, move to a finer grit sandpaper. Sand by following the grain of the wooden surface. You’d need to replace the sandpaper multiple times to remove the paint, so have a handful of them with you. After you’re done, take a cloth, and dampen it with paint thinner and dab it over the stain to remove any leftover paint.

We called local painting guys and they showed up with the paint and brushes, all geared up. Although they tried to be careful about spillage and other things, to what extent can you expect that right. So there was some drippings in my bedroom and bathroom. I tried to get them to clean it. You will have to be a proactive person to do this job perfectly. Here are some tips that’ll help you out. Wipe off the paint from the floor with a rag or a waste cloth before it dries out. Trust me 80% of your job is done right there.

If you can’t do that and now the paint is well settled, there are a few things you can do-

1. Scrape it off 

2. Pour hot water on the floor area where paint is sitting, wait for some time and wipe it off.

3. If that doesn’t work out, get rubbing alcohol from the market and soak a cotton pad in it. Place it on the paint stains and wait for sometime. Wipe off the mark after half an hour. That is how to remove paint from cement floor.

Mix warm water with a tablespoon of dishwash detergent. Now pour the solution over the paint marks and wait for some time. Wipe it off and let the spot dry. This is one of the most effectives methods to get rid of paint stains from the floor.
