I know the pain of trying to remove permanent marker marks off a wooden surface. My kid is a notorious one and he once drew over our wooden table, which ruined it completely. Thanks to a friend of mine, I got to learn how to take permanent marker off wood. She told me three effective ways. I’ll share all of those with you through this answer.
How to Get Permanent Marker Out of Wood?
Here are some of my tried and tested ways to get rid of permanent markers from a wooden surface.
- Nail Polish Remover:
You can grab a nail polish remover and apply it over the area to remove permanent markers from the wood. Remember to do this with a remover that is acetone-based. Also, do not scrub it with a lot of force, as this could cause damage to the topmost surface of the wooden material.
- Hand Sanitiser:
The next tool you can use to treat permanent marker marks is alcohol-based hand sanitiser. This is another useful method to remove permanent markers from a wooden object. You need to drop a little bit of the sanitiser and then clean the surface with the help of a soft cloth. This will do the job for you.
- Rubbing Alcohol:
The last item that I have for you to get rid of tough permanent marker stains is rubbing alcohol. Take a cotton cloth and put a bit of isopropyl alcohol on it. Then, dab the cloth gently over the affected area. Then, use a wet cloth to wipe away any traces of the marker.
This brings my answer to an end. Hopefully, this will help you learn how to remove permanent marker from wood.
